How do I install Android OS on my microcontroller?
-
I am working on a side project and I want to install Andriod OS on my microcontroller. I was wondering what kind of microcontroller chips should I use to install Andriod over it. Are there chips available in the market that are pre-installed with Andriod OS?

Answer:
Android is Linux based, therefore needs a full-up microprocessor system (32/64 bit CPU with an MMU). Start with this: http://source.android.com/compatibility/index.html You don't say which "Microcontroller" you are using, but you can buy, brand-new, 7" tablets with ICS pre-loaded for $50 here in the US. Why not start with that?

Android is not an operating system - it's a Java shell running on a Linux operating system. First get Linux running on your micro.
