Which college is better, MIT kothrud pune or NIRMA UNIVERSITY Ahmedabad.. in terms of placements, ranking, oppurtinities and overall environment! I will either opt for computer sci or electronics and comm engg?

I have graduated from Nirma University. I do not know much about MIT pune.  In terms of ranking, Nirma is better than MIT pune. Quality of Nirma Student is always good. But from my pune friends, I can say that placement of MIT pune is better than Nirma specifically in computer and electronics field. Because there are many IT companies in Pune than Ahmedabad. Generally IT companies prefer colleges which are near from their firms. You will get some opportunities in Nirma. I donot know about MIT pune in terms of opportunities. But you can learn many things in Nirma which is very useful in future. You can find many well-known alumani of Nirma University in different fields.

This answer may be biased being graduated from MIT COE, Pune.But based on my experience,MIT is far superior in terms of Opportunities and Placements. Reason being its situated in Pune, one of IT Hub of India. You have better and more chances for Internships as well as Placements in reputed companies.As far as academics are concerned I do not know about NIRMA, but here just as most of the top engineering colleges, some faculties are master in their profession and others are mediocre. But I am not sure how much that counts for engineers.Also if you are interested in other aspects of enjoying a true engineers life, this is the place. Be it cultural activities, events, sports, vivid campus and many more as far as you can imagine.
