Is it possible to shop online with PayPal unverified account?

What is the difference between an account with an unverified name, an account which has been banned, and an account which has been deactivated?

  • I've discovered a lot of accounts on Quora which fall into the above categories, but I've seen very little commonality between them. In particular, I'm curious because one former Quora user claims he "deactivated" his account, but his account actually seems to be fully removed from the site, including all his past answers and comments. I believe he may have actually been banned, but even banned accounts are still visible on the site, so this doesn't explain what happened to him. For example, this is what a "Banned" account looks like: The account is still visible on Quora, but it contains the text "This account has been banned." This is what a "deactivated" account looks like: It is also still visible on the site, but contains the text "This account has been deactivated." I'm sure we have all seen accounts which are pending a name verification. This seems to be a very minor administrative action, as such users can still post comments, answer questions and edit. So what, specifically, is the difference between these three actions, and what does it mean if an account is completely GONE from Quora?

  • Answer:

has instructions about deleting one's Quora account. Existing links to that account, from questions they have asked or mentions or edits to questions and topics now point to a profile named "User" with a number attached to it, which is completely blank. Moderation does not delete user accounts like this, this can only be initiated by the user. You are right in what you wrote about banned and deactivated accounts, but you are wrong about unverified names. These users are edit blocked and cannot write answers. Also all their answers are collapsed. See:
