Do 301 redirects also transfer social media endorsements?

I don't think a 301 redirect will help as much with social media citations and endorsements. While, in theory, search engines can tell the page the endorsement originally pointed at and redirect the 'juice', I suspect this will decay more rapidly, because it's easier to game. HOWEVER, these kinds of endorsements very likely pass more juice to the entire site. Again, this is all supposition, but it seems to me that if you get lots of endorsements pointing at specific pages, that will help your entire domain. So you'll still get some juice out of it. Doesn't mean you should ignore 301 redirects. Keep using them. But I think the theory behind it all gets much more complicated when it comes to social media.
