How long does the Harvard law school program last?

How difficult is it for an international student to get into the LLM program at Harvard Law School?

  • Answer:

There are between 1500-2000 applications to Harvard LLM every year, and the class is 150 people (this means they actually extend more offers). The level of difficulty really depends. There are a few factors that would play a role: your grades and experience, your references and recommendation letters, the quality of your personal statement, and even where you are from (for diversity reasons, the bar would probably be higher for candidates from one country vs. another). What we do at http://www.gradtrain.com/ is to connect applicants to people like them who went through the application process successfully to coach them in the process. (We'll only be up in October). This might be able to provide a better clue because the level of difficulty IS very different for different people, based on their background, among other things. So a Gradtrain coach can give an applicant a more personalized answer to this question, based on the coach's experience and the fact they have a similar background.

I was a 1973 graduate of the LL.M. class and really enjoyed the ability to take courses in other schools of the Harvard community and that is one of the great  opportunities of this program.
