What college would be the best to study electronics?

Which college would be better to study electronics engineering, MSRIT or BMSCE?

  • Things that I want: 1.) Better faculty 2.) Better infrastructure 3.) Reputation in International schools.(whether LoRs from professors help me in good MS schools?) 4.) Alumni network and involvement in international societies like IEEE 5.)Placements 6.)Entrepreneurship 7.)Better location 8.)Hot girls 9.)Scope for innovation and new ideas 10.) Good student culture

  • Answer:

Being a student of MSRIT I can tell you the scenario of the college. The college gives you boundless opportunities, be it extra-curricular , sports , projects, clubs and what not! It actually depends on you and where your interest lies! The infrastructure is cool and you will definitely get a healthy environment. The college has a good record of students getting placed in huge numbers, and yes the location is perfect! You get everything possible just outside the college campus!

Well, I'm an alumnus of BMSCE (2010-2014) 1) Like my senior, Vikram Sharma, mentioned earlier, Engineering requires good guidance in projects, paper publishing etc more than lectures. 2) Speaking of ECE, lately BMSCE has started many new labs where you can find a plethora of resources, but you'll have to learn on your own! MSRIT doesn't fall behind either. 3) I observed that a significantly larger number of students from MSRIT take interest in pursuing MS, than from BMSCE. Also I found that they get into better schools, but BMSCE doesn't fall too much behind  when it comes to that (I got into a great university). 4) I'm not sure about the IEEE chapters, but the Alumni network of BMSCE is beyond excellent. I interned at NI, R&D and found that a surprisingly large number of employees were from BMS, including the Manager. Similar trends in other leading companies. 5) Both are good, but BMSCE has lost a few companies because of reasons I don't want to mention here. Also, the restrictions placed on students are not very reasonable at BMSCE, not sure about the situation in MSRIT. 6) You will get a lot of support in both the colleges, but MSRIT is better. 7) I would say MSRIT, for a college crowd. There's the New BEL road etc. BMSCE is located in the heart of the city, but it doesn't have much to offer to students. 8) MSRIT, been there :P. BMSCE doesn't disappoint either, but you'll be in the dept. of ECE, don't expect much. 9) Both are good colleges to be in! 10) If you mean groups and clubs, BMSCE all the way. If you mean the crowd, you're going to be among ECE students anyways, so don't expect much. But I'd say MSRIT, I know a few.. If I could go back in time, I'd choose MSRIT, important reason being that that it's way closer to my residence. Good luck!

Being an Alumni of MSRIT, Ive some answers for ur question: 3. Both colleges dont have international reputation 4. IEEE network is better in MSRIT 7. Both are in better location 8. Both have got Hot chicks (grow up you're gonna be in college now) 9. That depends on you 10. That has no meaning You ask for too much. I hope you end up in UVCE (Bangalore university) ALL THE BEST!

I am a student of BMSCE EC here is what i feel 1. Faculty wise only few are good, others just try to finish the syllabus 2. Infrastructure is okay, but could be better 3. Reputation- low, recently NBA denied accretion for the dept. 4. this also not so great i feel 5 Placements are quite good, though u will be jealous of CS, IS students getting higher packages, Also not much EC core companies are coming, 6 i don't know what you are looking for, but if you meant doing some good projects, there is a small scope here 7 location wise this is the BEST 8 Not much, u have to settle for average 9 Crowd? I didn't get

Answer from my side: 1) Engineering doesnt require any faculty guidance. Still, both college have same quality. Many industrial MoUs but not used pretty well.. 2) BMSCE infrastructure is better I felt! 3) Both have same. I feel BMS is better to chose since I have seen many of classmates flying abroad without much difficulty at very good universities. 4) I served as Chair of IEEE. People interest in BMSCE is less when compared to MSRIT. But if you are good you can create wonders. Now I am into Bangalore Section of IEEE. Alumni network --> There goes a saying, anywhere in the world you go you wil find a BMSCE alumnus there!! Matter of fact that it is true! :D BMSCE is doing a lot to make all the alumnus to come under common umbrella now. So, next in couple of years, BMSCE may get many links from 1946! 5) Placements : Both are good 6) I would rate MSRIT is better here 7) BMSCE in location. 8) BMSCE: Once when I was travelling to Mangalore, one manipal alumnus said this to me when i introduced that I am from BMSCE, "Every year he comes to UTSAV- fashion show, just to see BMSCE team. And he and his friends have been doing it from last 10 years." 9) Support is good at BMSCE if you show interest towards it. No one will tell no for you. 10) No one can beat BMSCE in that! Lastly, if given a chance to do engineering again, I would come to BMSCE and not any other college!! :)

I shall tell you about MSRIT scenario 1.Depends on your luck ,there are good faculty in every branch in MSRIT. 2.I feel MSRIT http://3.As someone mentioned before both don't have   http://4.It depends on how active you are in these clubs because they are always active 5. It is good but how good are you 6.There is a club ,its how well you make use of it 7.Unless you are a non Bangalorean which i suppose you are ,you should be more worried as to which hostel is better 8.If you really are interested in the above things this wont matter 9.how often do you get them? http://10.It is the company you choose

If you want to learn something and if you can adjust bit strict environment, then MSRIT is a good place for ECE. For Mech it is the other way round.
