Which motorbike should I get?

What is the procedure to get the 'Fitness Certificate' for a 16-year-old motorbike, which is otherwise in perfect shape (well maintained) from the Bangalore RTO?

• To renew the insurnace policy, I was asked to produce the 'Fitness Certificate' of my bike, which is more than 15 years old. Apparently, this is needed, as per the current government norms. How do I get this certificate ?

  Before planning on the steps below: Make sure all the gauges and indicators on your bike are in working condition. Remove any rust and make it presentable(a paint job may be?) Step one-Take the fitness renewal form from the peon desk. Just ask him for one. Step two-Fill the details and submit along with a fee. Step three-You will be given a date for inspection of your vehicle and you have to make arrangementes to present your bike at the RTO office. Step four: the inspector will ask you questions like -When did you purchase, why do you want to renew, how many accidents, seems like that guague is not working, the paint job is old, the bike tyres are worn out, the headlamp seems screwed..bla bla bla.. Step Five: your answer to Step four should be "Howda sir? this is really in good condition, if not i'll get it fixed, otherwise it's a very good bike. Make sure you are smiling and humble all the time. Step Six: If the inspector starts again with Step four. GoTo Step seven. Step Seven: Sir, watever Your fee's is, i'll take care of that. Step Eight : He will either approve or disapprove(for a 15yr old bike it shouldn't be an issue i guess). Step Nine: Collect your Fitness certificate after a week.
