What is a marketing interviewer?

How do you generate leads? I work with a SAAS firm and working in sales and marketing. If an interviewer or anyone asks me how do you generate leads, What should be the answer or how do I answer that? I actually generate leads by many ways but don't know how to say that. Please help

    The answer lies in your question. List out the different avenues you have for lead generation. It could be a website, a mailer, SEO/SEM, trade show/events, social media - content marketing anything. You may  get inquiries and demo request which could be where your conversion happens. You might even have a well defined prospect base that will help you generate leads through direct marketing initiatives. It is a matter of listing the 'knowns' first and arriving at an answer from there.

I feel this is an easiest question that I sales guy could answer. I am not a sales guy but will try to answer what I can. 1. Tell the interviewer about the tools, platforms, softwares or any other social media that you use to generate leads. (I have heard from a sales guy that there are many websites through which leads are generated but the company has to subscribe for each of these websites) 2. Tell the interviewer on what basis you define your lead search. Location, type of business, annual turn over, no. of employees working, start ups, etc.. 3. Again u can tell him how you filter your lead to choose for a sales call, may be based on the turn over, type of business or based on locations, etc.. I think this would satisfy any interviewer. But depends on what they would be looking for in an interviewee's answer.

Great Question . With over multi-million companies offering the same service  , it becomes quite difficult to stand out of the competition. Undoubtedly, pull marketing always have great rewards but so is the intensity of the competition which is quite tough to be on top page of google, running google adwords irrespective of how well you plan it , your competitors are always after your ass to burn your wallet by clicking on it themselves. you can try with SEO, SMM etc .
