I want to move to Bangalore soon for my engineering job hunt. I've no idea about the city. In which area should I try to find my first accommodation?

Indira nagar, hosur road, basaavanagudi are the best places if you want an affordable and comfortable accommodation and nearer to the colleges.But first decide the college and search for accommodation in the proximity.

Marathalli or whitefield I guess..

Get your room near Roopena Agrahara. Its close to silk board. You will get information about every walk-in and interview happening in Bangalore. Some of it is fake information. But you get really good information about recruitment drives happening.

Try in BTM layout, marathalli areas for pg accommodation.

Thanks for A2A. You should look to stay around Koramangala and BTM. Koramangala is a hub of start-ups and job search would be easier if you stay around this area. You can search in http://Sulekha.com for PGs. As far as I know there are plenty of PGs in BTM.

BTM layout is the best place for PG's. You can easily find the people of your state and the enviornment there. About the market- Everything is easily available in the area. Expenditure- Most of the PG's are avaiaible for 5-6K with most of the basic facilities. Transport-  Since the area is crowded with working people, The local transport if easily avaiaible. Distance from offices- BTM is centrally located and is near to most of it IT parks and one can commute from the Local transport.
