Jobless societies wanted?

Do western societies have a concept of "leftover women" similar to Asian societies?

• In Asian societies, particularly Chinese society, single women are labeled "leftover women". Do Western societies have similar concept or are they more respectful? There are single Asian women who have actually become anti-social because of such societal pressures. Chinese New Year gatherings are absolutely dreadful. Maybe they can consider moving away to live in Western societies if Westerners are more respectful.

  There are more single people in the US than ever, in part because people choose to divorce, and women have a lot of financial power here, so they tend to define their own lives more. So I'd say, yes, there's still some discrimination, but it's more respectful. The words aren't used as much, but where spinster and confirmed bachelor were used previously, it's just bachelor and bachelorette and single being used now. People in families don't like single females as much, I think because they perceive men as more likely to cheat. It's proving to not be quite as true as people thought, but the bigger groups of single people create many social opportunities.  Jobs and community groups also create more options.
