Where can I do a one year Horsemanship course in the UK?

Will a one year UK Master's affect my chances for securing a PhD in a non-UK country?

  • I have a MSc degree from a UK university. But as an international student, the duration of the course was just one year (instead of the more common two years elsewhere). Will this affect my application for a PhD in a non-UK country? The degree had all the usual components of courses and a research dissertation.

  • Answer:

The only degree recognize internationally is the Doctorate. Your Master's degree would qualify you to apply to doctoral programs, so you would only need to fulfill the post-Master's course requirement. Be aware that the main obstacle is GRE for admittance, and once admitted, taking the Preliminary and Qualifying Exams by the third semester to become a Doctoral Candidate. Graduate School is all about research: You take professors not just course work. You should know who you want to work with before applying. Once you determine the school, immediately start preparing for the Preliminary Exams. Currently only 53% of Doctoral Candidates finished their Dissertation.
