Acceptance letter and Canadian Student Visa?

Is it harder to get a student visa if the acceptance letter is from a top state college and not a university?

  • I wanted to do My postgraduation from USA, does it deters you from issuing student visa if my acceptance letter is from a top state college and not a university..?

  • Answer:

As far as I know, most colleges are always affiliated to some university. However, it doesnt matter which college / university your acceptance is from - as long as its not blacklisted or been involved in any wrongdoing: http://www.ndtv.com/world-news/another-us-university-accused-of-visa-fraud-hundreds-of-indian-students-may-be-affected-495414 There is no consolidated list of such colleges - one needs to do its own research. As long as you have a valid acceptance letter, the visa officer is going to concentrate more on the interviewee and try to find out if the interviewee is going to stay illegally in the US after his/her graduation. If you happen to get a job offer and the requisite visa - the visa officers would have no issues with you continuing there. The key is "illegally". As long as you dont intend to do anything illegal during your stay - and convince the officer of the same - you should be ok.
