How can I get a text alert when I get an email?

Are there any services/apps out there where you can set rules and get alerts. eg . Your website is down and you get a text alert as soon as that happens. You can also set other rules eg. get an email when your google analytics shows you have x visits.

http://tools.pingdom.com allows you to have a free site monitoring account as well. At the end of the month it sends me an automated email about when and for how long my particular site went down. It's helpful for me to keep an eye on so I can detect any major downtimes and get them fixed quickly. Within Google Analytics, you can also setup some custom alerts so that if certain thresholds are crossed you can get a message about it. To see the links to how to set up alerts, see below: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1320491?hl=en https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033021?hl=en Finally, If-This-Then-That (http://IFTTT.com) can help you automate some of your systems. Although I don't believe it has many analytics capabilities, it has some pretty powerful social capabilities that you may be able to use for some basic alerts.

We use NewRelic http://newrelic.com/ and are very pleased with that. It allows us to set alerts when users see slow load times, or when the whole site is down.

The IT guys in my previous company used Zabbix http://www.zabbix.com/ and it works pretty well.Edit
