UK tourist visa (general visitor visa) eligibility has a clause "not in transit to another country, except for Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands". Does this imply I cannot have an onwards journey to another country on a valid visa?

Answer:
I'm not a visa / immigration expert, but this sounds more of the opposite. that you do not require a UK tourist visa if you are just transitting the UK, unless your final destination is Ireland, IoM or Channel Islands. You can have as many visas as you need for your onwards journey following your stay in the UK, the UK visa does not affect those or the requirement for them.
