How helpful is a business administration minor to an aspiring civil engineer?

Who have the experience in the market recommending me which is the best path, Master of business administration or master of engineering management with knowing I'm a civil engineer? MBA or MEM

  • Answer:

It depends entirely on what you want to do with your life. Do you want to manage macro level decision making? Then go for an MBA. Do you want to manage engineering projects? Then go for the MEM.

Totally agree with 's answer. To add my color to it, I think MBA in general has more brand value that MEM. I am engineer currently pursuing MBA. MBA keeps your options wide open no matter whether you want to get into Marketing, strategy, leadership or become middle tier engineering manager.
