As a business owner, what are the main factors that would encourage you to advertise on a local city/town guide website?

The main areas of our site will be: - Designed for visitors and local residents - Listing of many of the local businesses, together with reviews, ratings and local knowledge - Categories such as travel and lodging, localities / around town, services, culture, shopping and more - Listings of local events - Based on people's interests, whatever they may be - Getting user generated content, photos and reviews of local people on the businesses, activities and more that they love (Think Yelp with a specialized local view and more in-depth information) What are the key elements that would encourage you to advertise on such a site? We're planning to offer tiered membership levels that provide things like: - Ability to promote special offers and events - Priority listings in search and category pages - Detailed analytics on visitors to your pages - Downloadable content (e.g. coupons), videos & rich media to promote your business - Creating a microsite / blog on the site for your business What are the key things that you as a business owner would be looking for if you wanted to advertise? - A good visitor count and a 'sticky' site? - Link back to your own webpage and contact details? - Trial period? -  Attractive pricing options? - Ease of use and transparency? - Anything else?

  Hi, There will be only 2 reasons in the world for a business owner to get attracted to your page to advertise: 1. The no. of daily hits on your page (no. of users i mean -  potential customers for business owners) 2. The volume of business your page can generate for him (directly proportional to pt. no. 1) You can't pitch a business owner at this nascent stage to pay you when your page doesn't get considerable traffic. Rather..at this point of time, advertising their product/service for free would help you to fill in your page with considerable amount of stuff so that anybody who hits your page doesn't remain empty handed.
