Who has wider vision men or women?

Who has better vision: women or men?

  • Answer:

Vision as in eyesight or vision as in strategic worldview?  Eyesight, women win since we all know Moms have eyes in the back of their heads.  Vision as in strategy,  women still win.  We are better manipulators.  We just let you guys think you are in the driver's seat ;)

Men and women have slightly different strengths when it comes to visual perception. Men have greater sensitivity to fine detail and rapidly moving stimuli, but women are better at discriminating between colors. Actually we can't compare .... both think and act differently...... priorities etc are not the same..... We’re all different.....Succeeding in the workplace is about being your own    person, using your strengths and being aware of your weaknesses......... It shouldn’t matter whether you’re a man or woman...... So, this is what I think as of now.....

What is the definition of 'better' here? Both sexes have different strengths/weaknesses, so it depends on what would be considered 'better'. Males are more inclined to notice small details or moving things and have better night vision, but women are more sensitive to colours and have better peripheral vision. However, only women can be tetrachromat. Being a 'tetrachromat' essentially means that they have an extra cone which allowed them to, theoretically, see more shades of colour (up to 100 million different colours), while men are more likely to have colour-blindness. It is estimated that 8% of men and only 0.5% of women have colour-blindness and 2-3% of women have the extra cone, making them tetrachromats.

If you are asking about eye vision, I think the answer by Sheryl and Boris kind of encapsulates it. However, with technology as the great leveller and our equal exposure to harmful visual stimuli, I guess no gender's vision could be said to be better than another. If you are talking about vision as in the ability to dream and to look ahead, then similarly you cannot generalize based on gender. Although it could be said that men are better dreamers and visionaries while women tend to linger over the details, but then again I know women who have vision exceeding men.
