How can I create my own social network website as a person who knows some basics of programming languages like C++, Ruby, etc?
-
I actually want to know the best sources (free if possible) to learn all the basics and fundamentals for building a well developed website like facebook including some features like semantic search algorithm, some gamification and more. Where do I begin, the front-end, or the back-end? What are the programming skills needed? Is it even possible for a non CS person to learn and apply by himself all the requirements for such a website?
-
Answer:
possible to develop? Well that is definite YES. You can learn it. You can learn to code and degree in CS is not important. Though what you are trying to achieve is pretty big project. You will need to learn a lot of things even before you can start. If you want to completely do it by yourself I think you should get started with front end(basic HTML+CSS) that is the first step.
