Answer:
I'll be frank, A bird in hand is better than anything in the bush!! Take the job!!! If you don't like it, Prepare for the government job simultaneously. Since you have 2 years bond, write the exam just for a taste first year and prepare properly for second year, Also first year in office, whatever the job may be you should work hard but you can take it a little easy from next year!! Reply In comments for any questions! Cheers! EDIT: and thanks for the A2A! :)

As I was asked to answer this so here is my view: You should go for preparation of government jobs and give it a try. Being CSE student from IIT, will always help you get job in near future. As mentioned the salary increment is much less and with a two year bond... I think one should always stay away from such bond concerned job offers... Rest I leave it upto you. Think twice, thrice until your choice becomes stable and go for it :)

Since bond is involved think again. Generally bond is set at 200,000 rupees or so. If you plan on staying in the company for 2 years then go ahead. if u plan for higher studies or own venture in the near future find a different offer.

I have worked there as Software Engineer for two years, so I think I can answer your question. I got an opportunity to work there in their OSS Lab, and boy it was hell lot of fun and learning. We had an amazing team, and everyday in itself was rewarding as you got to learn pretty cool stuff. That said, not everyone gets to work in an amazing team, but looking into the company NTT DATA that is Japanese, you are sure to get quality work(Remember Japanese are known for their quality work). But it all boils down to one thing that it is a service based company, so it all depends what kind of work you will get, and yeah dont worry about these two years they will pass in jiffy, and you l get to know you are not a fresher anymore, and icing on the cake is that you will earning a handsome salary. So, in my suggestion hold the bird that you have got in your hand and dont go for two in bush.

Generally Bond means they are not confident enough that they would be able to keep you happy in the company. Personally, Bond is a turn off for me while accepting offers. Rest you know your aspirations and circumstances. You are a better judge than us.

I donot know anything about NTT data, but being a Software Engineer I am answering this question. The answer to your question is if you are passionate for the DS, algo, logic programming and such other stuff then you should go for this job else if you have done B-Tech so that you will be able to pass through the criteria of the government jobs then you should never opt for this job. Because in that case your professional life will be mess and you ll suffer a lot professionally. Choice is yours. All the best.

I am not really sure what government jobs you are talking about. There are different kinds ranging from banks to IAS. As you said you are from IIT, you must be capable of getting any decent govt job. According to me, you should give it shot if you are interested (or in terms of salary or status). The Job which you mentioned is not bad except for the bond. You might consider joining but with the IIT tag you might get this job afterwards also. But preparing along with job is really tough. Please note it.

These questions change from individual to individual and the circumstances. generally speaking two years just fly but at your age 2 years is very important for you to make or break, since you have no plans for regular education I would say that you should give it a try and prepare for govt jobs if you are more interested in govt jobs.

I will give you my own example. I completed B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering from IIST and later joined VSSC as Scientist 'C'. I had a bond of 5 years here. As you might be aware, this is a central government job. I didn't like my job. I applied for higher studies abroad and got admitted into a very good program on a scholarship. I will be joining the program in this October. I had to break the bond by paying a huge sum of money in the second year itself.. But in the end, I am very happy with my decision as I really wanted to get a higher degree and follow a research career.. So I think, in the end, what matters is whether you like your job or not.. If I were in your place, I would go for the job and give it a try.. If I don't like the job, I would start preparing for the thing which I want to do next (not the thing which people in general do).. Hope this helps.. :)

I would strongly advise against taking up a job which expects you to sign a bond. The salary mentioned is good for a first job but not good enough to warrant a bond of two years. As for a government job I am not sure what you are looking for and why. Unless you land a job in a lab which offers exceptional R&D opportunity I am not sure why you would want to go into the government. My suggestion is to look for another job even it pays a little less than your bonded job. I am a proponent of longevity in jobs but it should be because of satisfaction, not a legal contract binding you.
