For those who went to top-tier schools, is it rude to point directly at the logo on one's school-branded butt shorts when asked what school you attended? Why or why not?

Answer:
Yes. For many reasons. 1. It's rude to point. Even at your own luscious booty, if you've got one. 2. It's disrespectful not to answer a direct question asked audibly with an audible response. 3. It's embarrassing to your alma mater, your classmates, and current students of the school that you are wearing the school branded butt shorts. Unless you are a female Stanford undergraduate. In that case, the school sanctions, and possibly mandates, it. http://store.stanford.edu/store/product/Women_s_Butt_Shorts

Pointing at your own butt to highlight the fact that you went to a top-tier school is a rude gesture, tantamount to replying with a certain crude, dismissive phrase in excessive use among young Americans today, "Kiss my ass."

You have branded shorts? How very...'à la mode des Misérables' of you. Very 'modern' I'm sure. Well done - it is nice to see aspiration on the part of the lowers. Quite admirable. Keep it up. One feels duty bound to point out however that la belle élite recognise each other by the absence of such branding. Just a little tip from one who knows - hopefully it will help you when you wait on tables in Gstaad. As to whether it is 'rude', well by your standards I am sure I have no idea. By ours it is simply redundant. But bravo for thinking of the question.

I don't think that is rude in any case. If is kind of goofy when people wear words on their butts. And if I might like the butt or the rest of the person attached to it then I might think... hmmm... this person wants me to look at their butt. Maybe they are attracted to me. I don't really care about the name of the school or even if it is a real school. Actually people from 'top-tier' schools might have a slight disadvantage with me if they think that is at all more important than actually being someone who is a lifelong voracious learner. People who think the name of their school matters are a real turn-off. But a nice butt attached to a nice person who even wants to point it out like an offer... hmmm.. I don't know why that would be rude at all. And if it isn't a butt or person I am attracted to I will just be amused and hope that the next person they point their butt out to is interested in it, or the school listed. Butt certainly is isn't rude. People who find too many things rude are more rude then rude people... oh... am I risking spontaneous combustion?

Yes, unless you think they should be minding their own business, and you want to tell them to... "butt out".
