Questions about IPhone app.

How is the new Quora iPhone app different from the unofficial "Social Questions" iPhone app?

  • Answer:

Like Rob pointed it out the official Quora app use native view. In Social Questions I use the mobile website, but I also did some more work by using the limited alpha API. API call permitted Social Questions do display your profile and get your number of unread message and notifications. Social questions also offers some early native integration with the "my feed" view that basically parses your profile activity RSS feed. But yeah in the official app Quora use their own set of private API, the result is I  have to say it, awesome. The app is super responsive and it is fast even with a limited bandwidth. That was my first anwser from the official Quora iOS application.

Other answers

The official Quora app access data through it's (private) API and displays the data natively. The "Social Questions" app was basically the mobile version of Quora's site mashed up with native UI elements. The official app is much more responsive and more visually appealing because of this.
