Is Quora mostly used by techies looking to figure out techniques to launch their web startup?

    That's odd. You might need to adjust the topics and people you're following so you get a broader range. Quora has become my go-to site for food and cooking info, among other things. I routinely go to google and search site: plus my food keywords to find what I'm looking for. I just did this yesterday to get ideas for cabbage, and ended up trying a Turkish recipe that was awesome. :-)

Hardly. I guess you can say this about Quora during its early years where 90% of the questions are tech-related, but since then, Quora has indeed fulfilled its goal of being an information hub for everyone. I initally followed tech topics but have since unfollowed ALL of them (I think I only follow the Quora topic now) and have unfollowed every Quora user so that my feed is more controlled. I mostly follow A Song of Ice and Fire topics and Dating & Relationships and I must say that the content is terrific! Travel is also a good topic to follow since everyone chimes in about their opinions. Sure, tech topics still probably dominate the questions here in Quora, but there are a lot of other non-tech content in Quora as well that are equally good. :)
