Who is the best midfielder in the world right now?

That depends on the position in the field but in general I would say that is Marco Reus. ​ He is very skilled and has great ability in long and short passes. He can pass the ball to you from anywhere in the pitch. Marco Reus With a Goal and a World-Class Assist: He has also showed that he has one of the best dribbling in football and is very versatile around the field (He can play as a central and offensive midfielder or as a winger). His ability to create plays from nowhere and impressive speed proves that he is more than capable of leading a club as important as Borussia Dortmund. Even if his recent injuries didn't let him show his whole potential no one can deny that he is, if not the best, one of the best midfielders nowadays in world football.

Toni Kroos His technique, passing ability,balance ,power (with a elegant long shot) and his winning mentality makes him the best mid-fielder in the world right now.

Nemanja Matic He covers all field and win almost all tackles and has incredible pass.

Currently there is no midfielder dominating the world,because they are not making any creative plays,you know we've seen players like zidane,maradona,ronaldinho,kaka,platini,zico,socrates,laudrup..etc,who can influence the game more than the goal scoring striker.its not that today's players can't create magic, but they are not given the freedom to do so.we can see the decline of the trequartista(creative attacking midfielder),only if the current managers give more room for their creative midfielders will we see a change in the tide.For me the best midfielder right now Andrea Pirlo.Despite his age he is the best ,because there is no one challenging him.

Anyone of Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Andrea pirlo. Juventus have them all. No wonder they are dominating italian football since years.

The year is  2008 I get bored of watching cricket , I change the channel ,football is on, I see a guy with the ball seemingly glued to his feet . the name ANDRES INESTA. The guy made me forget cricket and love football. INESTA  is central to all the preceding in Barcelona s play be it wide , central or even at the back. Pirlo and then Kroos. Pirlo might not have that speed burst but the pin point precision and the way he sees gaps in defence for that killer through ball is unmatched. And an amazing free kick ability only adds to his value as a midfielder. You'll never see him agitated or stressed and he's as calm as it comes off the field too.

Bastian Schweinsteiger... Not only is he a world cup winner, Captain of the #1 ranked national team,  and a Bayern Legend, he is also pure world class. From his passing skills, control, shooting,everything, he is the most complete box-to-box midfielder in the world right now.
