What is post-modernism (in literary works?

What would be the characteristics of a reaction against literary postmodernism?

  • I came across this page, http://cienciaficciongolem.wordpress.com/2009/12/13/manifiesto-contra-el-postmodernismo/, and, having a limited grasp of Spanish, completely failed to understand it. This article is apparently one of the bases for a book called "Videre", written by Dario Asensio (also the author of the blog), which I have read as best I could, but I still don't understand the reference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for answering.

  • Answer:

The "New Sincerity"! Anti-ironic, "single-entendre" writing that carries an unapologetic emotional payload. Read David Foster-Wallace's "E Unibus Pluram" (http://jsomers.net/DFW_TV.pdf, PDF). Writers such as George Saunders or Jonathan Safran-Foer might qualify.
