What is it like to study an M.Tech in ocean and naval architecture in IIT, Karaghpur after doing a B.Tech in mechanical engineering?

Hey first, naval architecture is quite different from the architecture, as naval architecture is concerned with the designing naval ships. Second, if you are interested into the field then you would be benefited from being a mechanical engineer. So go ahead, if you think that is your career. But you should always keep in mind that if you specialise into something by changing your profession, you must do it for your passion and will to do something good for new profession, but never for greed to have better job opportunities. Because, only your good interest into the field could generate your long term satisfaction and growth in your career. So get in depth knowledge before pursuing anything new, otherwise you must find better opportunities as a mechanical engineer.

I have one senior who has done this course.If u have interest in some particular field like CFD so being in this department you can opt for CFD subjects and look forward for CFD jobs .And regarding ocean engineering its good option too. Best is that you first go through the course structure and what courses are being offered. choice is urs :)
