What is a good way to find blogs to follow on a subject?

  • If I become interested in a new area I like to find bloggers who write about it in order to follow them. Unfortunately google blogsearch is essentially useless: It's full of random link spam and rebloggers. What are some better alternatives? NOTE: This question is similar to   In contrast, this question focuses on how to find good blogs once.  The other question is about getting a feed of new blogs on a given topic.

    I would consider looking up the webby awards. They usually break down their "best of" blogs by subject, often times specific, which are, I find, particularly good.

Try creating a trap on .  Creating a trap on a topic is like assigning a personal assistant to continually search for web content on that topic.  Trapit is creating a collection of quality web content.  They have humans check every source before they add it to their index.  So, say you wanted to discover good architecture blogs.  Search for architecture or give Trapit an example of the kind of article you're looking for and it will find similar content, all from quality sources.  I use Trapit a lot and have yet to see spam or even crappy blogs.  It is a way to find blogs that would be very hard to find otherwise.  This method is less direct than simply giving a list of blogs, but it is the best way I know of.
