How to install Python package with CMake?

Can you install python-virtualenv using yum on Fedora?

  • When I try "sudo yum install python-virtualenv" on a Fedora-8 it tells me there is "No package python-virtualenv available."

  • Answer:

Yes you can. On my Fedora 18 system: [ankur@dhcppc1  ~]$ sudo yum search virtualenv <snip> python-virtualenv-clone.noarch : Script to clone virtualenvs python-virtualenvcontext.noarch : Switch virtualenvs with a python context manager python-virtualenvwrapper.noarch : Enhancements to virtualenv python-tox.noarch : Virtualenv-based automation of test activities python-virtualenv.noarch : Tool to create isolated Python environments   Name and summary matches only, use "search all" for everything. [ankur@dhcppc1  ~]$ Your issue is that you're using Fedora 8, which is no more supported. There are no updates, not even security updates for Fedora 8. If you use a currently supported release, you will have the latest package set with newest software. Please update, and you'll have your package.
