How should I do my title page?

How do I get my Facebook page to show in Facebook search results, when the title of my page is two words combined into one?

  • For example: A Facebook page is named "TennisLadders", because it supplements the website http://www.TennisLadders.NET.  However, we want the page to show in Facebook search results when someone types in "Tennis Ladders" or even "Tennis Ladder". Does anyone know if it is possible to have a one-word titled page show up for these other two-term searches?  And if so, how?

  • Answer:

Hi! If your page has a vanity URL slightly different from your page name (title) that shouldn't be a problem for being "indexed". The real deal about Facebook seach is that it shows results related to every individual user social context; I haven't found any conclusive study on how this works, but I have done some research with people with different profiles and their search results have varied widely for the same queries. There may be several variables that affect the context to define the affinity of every individual user with your page; facebook used to define that variables within the Edge Rank formula but it looks like things have changed a lot in the last few months and this kind of "predictability" is going to be even harder.  ( http://marketingland.com/edgerank-is-dead-facebooks-news-feed-algorithm-now-has-close-to-100k-weight-factors-55908 ) You may take this with a grain of salt (because it has not been widely tested), but after some empirical tests, I've noticed that pages liked by friends, verified pages, pages with big fan numbers and pages I've liked/engaged with before are more likable to appear in the search results of that specific user. Also I've noticed that the priority in search is for people and not pages in several cases. So, basically, I don't think there is an easy way to actually guarantee you are going to be "shown" in Facebook search for every user by typing a query in the search box... but maybe facebook will monetize their search feature in the future with something like "sponsored results"... who knows...
