How hard is it to get into Stanford MS&E?

• Current Position: Completions Engineer in International Operating Oil Company Background: Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (From Top 100 International University), GPA 3.65/4.00 (1st Rank Student) TOEFL: 107/120 GRE: 155/161/3.5 (Planing to retake) What are my chances of being admitted to Stanford Management of Science and Engineering Department? I see it is very competitive, and most of the admitted students has higher results than me. But is competition the same for all of the students, or is it easier for some international students form certain countries, especially if very few people applying (or even had ever applied before) from that country to MS&E department?

  As someone who did the program, I would encourage you to start your coursework through Stanford's online program. If your employer offers tuition reimbursement, you can work and knock out half the coursework before you are admitted.  I found it very effective for myself.  I would recommend that you spend at least one quarter on campus to build a social/professional network.
