How to access the Twitter Streaming API from Python?

When will Twitter include Lists in their streaming API?

• Twitter's real-time streaming API is currently restricted to the All Friends, mentions and direct messages. I use Twitter to keep up to date with friends, for the latest news, and to follow technology trends for work etc. This means I've sorted my following into lists and use third party applications like Tweetdeck. Unfortunately, lists still use the REST API rather the Streaming API. Although a minute or two may not be long to wait, streaming lists would have significant improvements and seems an obvious improvement to the site. When will Twitter support lists on their Streaming API?

  We've no near-term plans to add Lists to the Streaming API. Lists, in general, could use some attention.
