Is Silicon Wedding in Berlin a good place to work and live?

Neukölln is about the same price as Wedding, and it's got the advantage of being right next to Kreuzberg.  I live here and it's great.  (Both Wedding and Neukölln have easy access to the rest via the ringbahn.)

I live in Wedding since last July, Seestraße area. I wouldn't say there are many startups there, but I can tell you that rent prices are much better than Kreuzberg and Neukölln. I'm talking Berlin in 2006 prices basically. Last summer search in Neukölln was depressing: expensive for the quality of the flats and the crazy demand for them. The area around Osloerstr, Leopoldplatz and Wedding station is getting better, as the number of hipsters per square meter signals :D Clubs, breweries and the lake help. I wouldn't avoid it if you are looking for a glimpse on how Berlin looked and felt 10-5 years ago. But in terms of startups around, there's still a long way to go. The gap between Mitte and Moabit is definitely the stripe I find most boring. The fact that the German CIA Headquarters are moving in Schwarzkopfstr. makes me expect the worse.
