How can Hyderabad's start up ecosystem be on par with Bangalore? What steps should the government/start ups/entrepreneurs take in order to cultivate an environment focused on innovation?

  Software Services Startup eco system is already saturated in Hyderabad. I assume that you are asking for Software Product Startups. But in Hyderabad youths are more focused on getting visas and migrating to developed part of world. They revolve around Chilkur Balaji temple to get their visa approved. You will not find a single fellow revolving around that temple and asking god "just give me one product idea where I can implement my technical skills and make money and bring change to this world" The core problem lies in mentality and attitude of Hyderabad youths. If you can transform them from being body shopped to USA/EU via Infosys, TCS etc to being a product developer, then the Eco system will build automatically Hyderabad is least eligible to have Google and Facebook office in group of these 3 cities (Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad ), but Hyderabad have all mainstream product development back offices to add like Yahoo, Microsoft, Amazon etc. Even this is not recognized by youths of Hyderabad. You will be never able to build startup Eco system in Hyderabad till youth there don't come out from sick mentality of H1 visa, no matter you or government invest $ 10000000000000000(add same amount of Euros too) for creating Software Product Startup ecosystem there If you see Hyderabad is more connected to USA then Bangalore or Pune. I mean there are more H1 B visa holders from Hyderabad(or Andhra Pradesh) then Bangalore or Pune. But they all are body shopped by Infosys, TCS etc to do IT Tourism and upload Pictures at Facebok from there Nikon D70 camera(which they don't know how to use) with background of the great America Skyscrapers or Terrain PS: I equally Love Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. I lived and worked in these cities. I currently live in Pune. And to add its true about Indian Youths (working in  Software Services) but more Specifically True for Youths of Hyderabad
