Where is it possible to get samples of fabric for outdoor and nautical designs?

    Caroline's point re: small batch is important. You need to understand continuity. If you need dependable and consistent supply, you need to ask the vendor about continuity. Not all fabric sellers are created equal. In the case of jobbers, they provide a useful function (small lots, lower cost) but they often cannot provide continuity. Seattle Fabrics is a good place to start if it's small batch/private use. Otherwise attending a trade show (Outdoor Retail Conference in Utah or Ispo Munich) is a good place to start. All the big textile manufacturers have stands and a sales team to help. You probably won't find catalogues. Prices per yard vary..$15 for waterproof, prices go down the more you order.
