How do I port my application to OS X?

Why is it that when I start one application A on port 8000, close it, and then later start another application B on port 8000, it still directs me back to my first application?

  • Is the port bind permanently onto port 8000 forever for application A?

  • Answer:

Would the page is still application A after you refresh the browser? Sometimes the browser cache your page. Try to disable browser caching on development. For example, on Chrome, open Chrome Dev Tool (F12) >> Settings (symbol top right corner) >> check Disable cache (while DevTools is open).

No, it is not permanently allocatedby default! You just have to close the server on 8000. It doesnot close automatically when you close the application. If you are using Mac, you usually start the server from the terminal. Go to that terminal window where you started your server and close it(Cmd + C in Mac or Ctrl + C on Windows)
