What does a project coordinator do?

What are the roles of a project coordinator in the software industry? What are the skills required to become one?

  • Answer:

As per my understanding and being on that role, below are the highlights-   1. "Get it done by others" - it is not always easy to get a task done by others.Need to build relation to other stakeholders on which your delivery is dependent. Any delay made by them could screw up your delivery. 2. Escalation - Escalating any issue at right time to right people/team. 3.Call-meeting-meeting-call - your daily calendar is full of meetings and calls. You need to attain n number of calls and meetings. The purpose of these calls/meetings might be working with QA/developers/BA/clients to create a common ground so that any issue could be clarified/addressed. Skills required: 1.Written and oral communication skills as you need to write lot of emails and need to speak a lot. 2.Good interpersonal skills - you need to understand people's psychology and communicating to them accordingly. 3. Being a technical and domain expert(SME) is added advantage.
