How to import data with JSON?

How can a non-technical person create structured data (such as heirarchical data in json)?

• consider company financial results - profit and loss or balance sheet.  They are created in spreadsheets.  You could write a program which will convert a spreadsheet/csv into structured json.  However, what I am interested in is creating data in a structured format to start with.  You could probably add a column in a spreadsheet which indicates parent or child relationships.  I personally can just create the data in json, but I don't think you can ask a non-technical person to do so.  How would you approach this? Note: I am not looking for a coding answer.  Think of a bank teller creating this data.  Would you just ask him/her to mark a column in a spreadsheet to indicate relationships (parent/child)
