What's the scope of biomedical engineering for next 5 years?

Is there any scope for pursuing a Master's degree in social sciences, literature, or humanities in India after 4 years of what seems like futile engineering to me?

• I am not really aware if making a switch to Humanties is possible at the Masters level now, after 4 years of Bits Pilani.The other option is to leave the country and pursue it, but let's leave that aside for the moment. I have an interest in literature and History though i enjoy reading the other subjects as well. All this considering the fact that at some point of time i shall try for the Indian Civil Services as well.

  Honestly, nothing's futile. I'm not talking about your degree here but even the 4 years spent in a University would definitely not be a waste of time. Maybe it will take time, but you will know their worth eventually. Since I've studied in J.N.U., I strongly encourage you to prepare and appear for M.A. Pol. Science/ Sociology/ History/ Gender Studies program. I was a literature student and I used to audit lectures for Sociology, both M.A. and Ph. D programs and trust me, if you ever get a chance to be a part of Professor Avijit Pathak's lectures, you'll feel you're so damn lucky. You're still young, stop sounding morose about studies. It's the most fun one can have, what's better than learning? There's no age limit on that. Apply for TISS, Young India Fellowship and Aziz Premji's programs too. Good luck! (:
