Are there any good offline multiplayer FPS's?

Will the offline multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3 resemble that of Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops in execution?

  • My housemates and I rarely-to-never play together online, and tend to play offline against one another in split-screen. In the offline multiplayer was basically a carbon copy of the online version. Levelling up, unlocking weapons, callsigns, custom classes, completing challenges etc were all available and progress saved to your personal profile. However, this wasn't the case in , which only offered a few set classes and that was it, which meant we abandoned it after a few days and went back to MW2. Before going and buying MW3 upon release, is there any indication as to which route will be taken for the offline multiplayer?

    Probably modern warfare 2 since infinity ward mad MW2 and they're making MW3 so it won't resemble the treyarch call of dutys

Black Ops was a Treyarch creation. Treyarch is known for their creation of the zombie mode, not their multiplayer.  MW3 will be under Infinity Ward, so it will more than likely look, play, feel, and resemble MW2 since that was an Infinity Ward creation as well.
