What factors do I have to take care of while starting a recruitment agency?

• Hello Friends, A little bit about me. Having worked in recruitment industry for more than 6 yrs, now I want to start a recruitment agency of my own. I am mainly planning start it in Bangalore and want to cater to technology(Online/eCommerce/SAAS) startups in India. However before going for the same, I want to gather some inputs from people.. 1) Corporate HRs can tell me how has been their experience with other recruitment firms and what will they be expecting from a new firm. 2) People who have founded recruitment firms can share their experience 3) Candidates can suggest what they expect from a recruiter These inputs will help me in fine tuning my service offering. Posting anonymously as I am still working with a recruitment agency. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  What you need is Uniqueness and Innovation, these days we see lots of recruitment consultancy in market but its difficult to say what differs one from another. According to me none of them can solve my problems in hiring niche people Few things I can think of from both as an HR from startup and from being star  entrepreneur and running my own recruitment firm for year and half- 1. Companies are more interested in passive candidates than active candidates. 2. If you are targeting startups then you need to be on your toes always, keep your pipeline and data in ACTIVE mode. 3. Have an experienced product hiring recruiters, it helps a lot( from my experience) 4. Focus on certain areas, don't focus on hiring for multiple industries/domain. 5. Have strong network in industries. 6. Huge pool of candidates in your databank. More than all above I would suggest that instead of starting up a recruitment consultancy, re-look the problem of getting talent from a different angle and look for other solutions apart from traditional recruitment consultancy and get your startup work on that idea.
