Where can I find free product images (to use on commence templates)?

I am working on an ecommerce web template similar to what you would get at http://themeforest.net/. I was wondering is there a place to find good (copyright free) product images ie, shoes, clothes, food. Also since the website is just a template, therefore the images would not used to "sell" fictional products, can I just use any image what I can find (I know this is just wishful thinking on my part, but what do you think)?

Do you have a camera? do you have shoes? The quickest way to copyright free images is to put the shoes in front of the camera and take a picture. Research "product photography" and controll your background and you may have enough to work on. You'll certainly understand more about how much work it is to take a good image. When I needed gun images for a gunsmith's website, I asked around, found a friend with a private arsenal, and showed up with a backdrop and a camera. Should have carried lights. The images are clean, good enough, and don't have skanky models showing off their buns. And yes, you are using very wishful thinking to think the "I didn't mean to make money by stealing the product of your hard work" is a good defense against copyright infringement. There are plenty of Creative Commons sites that will let you use images with attribution. You might also look at the TOS for www.500px. Some of those images can be used for free, although probably not in something that you are selling.
