What is a telemetry tech?

What is some advice for a wasted B.Tech CS student now doing M.Tech, who wanted to work as a programmer (good product companies)?

  • Hi, I'm a B.Tech Computer Science graduated in 2008-2012 (actually 2013, i had a backlog in the final year), and after that I have given GATE exam but not qualified and lastly written PGECT (Local PG entrance Exam) and got M.Tech seat in University College completed my first year, I though I can get some placement even in small company. But, I had less chances as I had less percentage (64%) and I cannot apply to most Companies MNCs (TCS cutoff is 60% but should not have backlog in final year), and placements are very less, If i go outside i fear the same thing repeat as I have lesser academics %. Now i got Selected in a SBI as IT Officer and due to financial reasons I need to join the Job, but I wanted to become a developer, I spent a lot of time doing coding practice on sites like http://codingbat.com etc... but I'm not that much great at problem solving but, bcoz of my practice I'm somewhat got better. Now, i plan to join in SBI and work for one or two years and do m.tech in some IIT or NIT. Is it ok, can i get opportunity for job with my lesser academics and a year gap, Please advice what I should do?, Thank You

  • Answer:

SBI job will provide you ample of time and money, start freelancing as a coder, its much more challenging than a job task. Save money and then do your PG.

SBI is not bad at all. In fact it might turn out to be a gift in disguise. You will have govt facilities, a fixed 9-5 job and ample leisure. Keep coding and hone your skills in your free time and think long term of starting a company or free-lancing. You can also go for mtech after sometime, but another mtech might not even be necessary. You can try to so MS outside, that is definitely a better option.
