Physics calculation- does anyone understand the solution to this question?

Will anyone help me with these 15 problems I am facing while preparing for IITJEE-2016?

  • I am a preparing for IIT JEE 2016..almost half the year has passed and I have still not settled to the routine I should have.I have wasted a lot of time.I am feeling that half the year has passed and I am where I was at the beginning.okay there has been a little bit of improvement but with this pace of improvement surely I will crack jee in 5-6 years.-_- It feels as if time is running as fast as it could and I am where I was:(.I honestly don't know what is happening in my life.6 months I could have done so much in these months.it iS not that i'm not trying to but it is that I am not able to.. I am studying but there is no significant improvement at all.this sometimes frustrates me...badly!! My problems- 1.Procrastination- Each one of you must be aware of it.I hate myself for it.My targets get postponed from one day to another. And in the end I feel like what have I studied? Everything is left! 2.Speed - I am very slow ..really.I take very much time to solve a problem.I have taken as much as 3 hours! 3 hours! To solve a single problem in maths and physics. It is disappointing! In fact many a times I cannot solve a single problem i'm 3 hours! Many questions, in fact in most of the questions I solve the problem after seeing the solution many times and It is disappointing to realize how easy the particular question was!! And I could not solve It.. 3.Accuracy-there have been many times when my answer doesn't match with the correct one.I solve it 3-4 times and each time a different answer!! I am very careless..This is my accuracy!!..see! How can a person like me not be disheartened? It seems like you are doing hardwork still there is no result no result at all...hardwrk kr dariya me daal.. -_-how can a person like me not be disheartened? 4.Carelessness-I don't know where to start with this one.In the omr sheet I darken a bubble of say question no. 3 to question no. 2.Once I skipped the whole page of questions!! (can you believe it?) and unfortunately they were the easiest one :(  (there are approx 3-4 ques in a page the rest of the page is for calculation ).the list goes on. 5.Self confidence-I lack self confidence.. sometimes I doubt if I can do it. One other problem is that I always compare myself to others.I just feel like they are also my classmates they have adjusted, settled, in 11th class why can't I?..and many more.. I really don't have confidence.when a teacher asks something in class I am not able to answer even if I know the answer ..this has happened many times...Even sometimes when the teacher gives a problm and then asks who has solved...even if I solve I don't raise hand because I think its wrong..but aftrwrds i get to know it was correct :(. 6.Nervousness -I have already told I am underconfident when a teacher asks something in class I am not able to answer even if I know the answer and I know it is correct... 7.Negativity- I don't always think negative but when I do it Its too much. 8-Concentration/stamina-I am not able to concentrate with that power for more than two hours.sometimes in class i find myself thinking about something else :/ -_- 9.Memory-I study, I give exam, I forget!...My memory is very very weak.. I study a night before and I forget. This is the reason I am not able to score even in the easiest topics Recently I had an exam in my coaching.syllabus was vast.I was confident about the concept but I remembered it wrong! oh God and 4 ques.! 4 ques.! 16 marks! *faints*It is like I voluntarily gave my 20 marks! Negative marking.. 10.Internet-I am addicted to it..quora, Facebook..huh..I have already deactivated fb. No !!I cannot take risk at all.And believe me for me it is a sacrifice.I come for 15 minutes just to Chk notifications this is what I think  initially and then I end up chatting with so many people for almost an hour and then my eyes start irritating and I need sleep but I could not and thus I an not able to study..thus ruined! 11.I think allot-I can go on thinking for as long as 3-4 hours and this replaces my study time.if this happens or that and then imaginary conversations in a Maden up scenario.I really want to and try to avoid it but I don't know when I am in the process and then I realise I have already wasted this much time.I also hate it because somehow these create expectations.oh and it hurts! (You can skip this story if you want) Recently I had a break http://up.it/ was a virtual relationship .We meet over an educational site. It lasted for an yearand then I got to know that he is dating my friend too.who was  a virtual friend too. They are still in a relationship.and frankly,I don't have any problem with it because I believe it was in my destiny to meet him..that's it..he is very wise.a state topper..I respect him although he cheated me.I could not believe that he cheated me..therefore maybe somewhere I would have been wrong.this incident wounded me and I could not heal then I decided to leave him alone and focus my career because I know this is the most important phase of my life and I don't want this misunderstanding to spoil my career at all.I know it wasn't love.must have been infatuation..or just an attraction..but he initiated it.he made me fall for him. I was hurt.It has given Me so much pain but I am glad it is over now.it was not good.moreover how can I love a person whom I have not meet at all? He is so clever he made me fall for him..whatever but I also got to learn somethings from him. I wanted to forget about him but I am still friends with that girl and as they are in a relationship she keeps on telling me about their lovestory..these things remind me of those days.. He thinks that I am very wicked type of girl like the villains in Indian soaps because I just played a trick with him which was just for fun which turned into a nightmare..and he says it is because of this that he broke up with me but frankly I didn't want to..it was not intentional..it was just for fun (you can continue from here) Okay so the point over telling all these is that it affects my studies.sometimes I wonder what if we both got into the same college? And more often I just want to say him that I am not so bad really I am not  evil..it haunts me repeatedly..but then I think not to interfere in his life they are in a happy relationship and considering the pain I went through I don't want to be in any relationship and any kind of mental exercise because of this.I cannot at any cost take risk at this stage.how does it matter even if he thinks I am a bad girl? Let him think whatever he wants.. whenever my friend tells about her he I don't c are and even if I have asked her not to discuss this matter with me she persists. I blame myself for what has happened and I feel very much guilt.I feel I I've done an unpardonable mistake.a sin. These are the times when occasionally I get into t he imaginary world.but truly I am glad that it is over. Please help me get over this.can I be forgiven?I myself am not able to forgive myself ..let alone the almighty.. ps.Yesterday I got to know that that Guy has another gf as well as my friend told.lol...he is so selfish..a player in fact spoiling our studies and toping himself..huh!! 12.Lack of regularity-I suffer because of this allot and understand its importance but I cannot follow its principle.I have studied from 13 hrs to 0 hrs a day.I know its of no use.Initially I studied good amount everyday and I used to be happy and then one day that virtual friend of mine(the girl) called me and we talked about I, she, he and love and from that day onwards I am not able to study.. Out is not because of this only before this also I was not so regular.. 13.Start and break-I am a morning person. If I start (studying) early my schedule goes smooth but if I delay, delay, delay and delay! Huh! I study very few hours. Break-when I take breaks while studying and the breaks are like 5 minutes..it is fine and I go according to my schedule but as I take long breaks I don't feel like sitting again..it is again like delay delay delay! I am not a genius,I need to labour hard to achieve my goal..sometimes I wonder I am cheating myself... 14.chemistry-I hate this sub and this subject hates me too.Chem is my weak point in fact very weak point. For example in one of the coaching exams, my overall physics and maths ranks were around 500 and Chem? Around 1500!!! Or you may say around 1600..:/ this is my plight.People Mock me because I am weak at the scoring subject.my Chem is below average.I don't like this subject and I am doing my loss.Chem is so boring I don't enjoy it.I cannot feel http://it.it/'s more like a rote learning..I am now just trying to study it, to develop interest in it because no matter what this chemistry is going to be with me for atleast 3 more years.i I've to do friendship with it.I am just trying please help me.!! 15.School our coaching? -It is reallydifficult to manage between the two.Out of three exams at coaching 2 coincided with that of school's..and I ended messing with both..performing satisfactorily at neither. 16.Motivation-I lack motivation maybe all the above problems would not exist if I would regularly be recharged with motivation to study, to achieve my goal, my aim, my dream... ______ These are some of t he problems I am struggling with.please help me I desperately need your help.may be you don't know what miracle your help may do to this poor girl..please answer if you can help me with any any any of the above problems. I don't know why I am loosing hope slowly.. This time I don't want to regret at all.Inn the last hrt (exam ) I have ruined enough. This is not a joke I am preparing for jee..and this is my energy my excitement..I am scared sometimes I wonder I am cheating my self sometimes I wonder I am wasting my parent's money (coaching).please help me.on 13 October there is another exam.I am scared.they are going to do shuffling of the batches now.My friends are surely going to be among the to batches..I don't want to lag behind..i don't want to be in lower batches our else I will loose whatever self confidence I am left with..There are only 10days left and I have s(ooooo much syllabus... I am not so intelligent I know it, but I want to improve an nd prove that I can..enough time has been wasted..now I just want my graph to rise forever..I want to improve,I want to crack iitjee..!! Help me, save Me!!! I desperately need your help.may be you don't know what miracle your help may do to this poor girl..please answer if you can help me with any any any of the above problems.!!..Please help me..!

  • Answer:

I am a little too surprised at the length of the question as well as the answers. IMHO IIT JEE is not about lengthy text. I think most of your problems are usual problems at the age (unfortunately) when people need to give that exam. Try to ignore them and find a route around them rather than conquering them.

Oww Oww Oww, Firstly  cool down dear... !! :) .  I've liked your question a lot . ( not because of the problems you have quoted, but because of the way in which you've expressed it.) I can feel utter frustration in you. So, Be calm and lets see how to deal with your Huge pile of PROBLEMS. (which are not actually problems :P ) Dear, Maintain cool composure. You've just completed your 10th. Shall I tell you one thing? I've crossed your stage. You are not late, You are no different from others. Every one will take more or less the same time to get adjusted to the situation. Fact No:1 IIT paper mainly concentrates on the second year. Fact no:2 The concepts which you feel difficult now will be easy for you in your second revision which your coaching guys will plan next year by this time. So, you are in still at the start of your journey for preparation .So happy, cool and stay calm, Be confident. Lets go to each and every problem of yours one by one . Procrastination: Believe me, each and every one will have this problem. You are not the only one who suffers. Generally , as shown in movies we have two forces. Let's  say angel and evil forces. Since we are evil by default, :P we will be more inclined towards laziness, procrastination etc etc..  So, now we have to get over this problem.  1 : What you do is always try to remember the exam date, what would be your position if you don't do the work you've ought to do.    2: Keep remainders in your phone. So , by chance if you are distracted, these remainders make u remember all the stuff u r pending with. :)   3: Most importantly, build up enthusiasm in your work. create interest. If you really create interest in your subject, believe me.. you ll get addicted to it like Fb and quora.. :) 4: Be happy , stay calm and be confident. Speed : This is not a big issue.. And you need not feel dis hearted that you've taken such long times for solving single problems. The reason is simple.. If you don't know the Principle or the methodology to solve a problem, it ll obviously take more time. 1: First build up concepts and practice a lot. know the methods to solve different problems. 2:Don't waste time brooding on single problem. Give the problem max 15-30 mins . If you don't get, just leave it for the doubt clarification session with your lecturer. 3: You mentioned the problem of huge home work!!.The concept of home work is to give you the ease in a particular subject. You don't do all the problems. Just go through the question. If found familiar, go to the next. Try to solve the tougher ones and get a round of discussion with good students in your class so that if you by chance miss any good question, it ll be covered there. 4: Be happy , stay calm and be confident Accuaracy: With practice comes accuracy. Practice Practice and Practice. Don't loose hope.    Be happy , stay calm and be confident Carelessness: ha ha ha... Shall I tell you one thing, I've also committed that mistake which you've committed. So you are not the only one. You need to be careful while attempting OMR . After that mistake, I've found methods to overcome such mistake further. So  I used to slot up the entire questions in to group of five. Immediately after solving the 5 questions, I used to bubble those in my OMR. There by , I can optimise my time wastage and damage prevention if in case any similar mistake happened. Remember this, If you wanted to achieve anything, you have to be careful and devoted.  Be happy , stay calm and be confident Self confidence: There is no one in the world who knows about you much better than yourself. So , Don't care about what others think about your performance. Just work for your self. you ll be confident . Try to be always happy and calm. what ever may happen . this is because, there is lot more to face in the future. so this is nothing compared to that. Negativity : Have faith in yourself and if you believe in God., Throw some responsibility after your maximum effort. Everything will be good. In a World's best seller ALCHEMIST , Paul Coelho mentions that believe that what ever happens, it happens for good. So, even if you did not succed in this, believe that something much better is waiting. It is true that optimism will always give you much better results. Stamina / Concentration: I suggest you do meditation early in the morning. Fresh air will impart you tremendous energy in to fresh brain. and you ll definitely have best day.. :) Memory : All my answers were inter related.. Meditation will improve your memory. But apart from that interest in you subject, Zeal will help you more. If you watch an interesting movie, your mind will be thinking only about that stuff even after completion of that movie. This is much similar to that.. just try to think about what you've studied on your journey to school, or eating etc etc.. that will surely be concretely stored in your brain. Internet : You are getting on to internet means you still did not get the heat of preparation. You don't know where exactly you stand or, to be frank you didn't start your preparation. If you start to work with the things and know what you have to do, you ll definitely don't get time for chatting and Internet. .. Have control on yourself.. :) Other stuff : Be happy that you've experienced such situations at a very earlier stage. You are going to face a lot such stuff in your B.Tech ( This is true ) .So , Since you've got enough experience, now don't go for such crap.Believe me.. This stuff is the mother cause of all your problems. Try to avoid that girl. Have only subject related discussions. Be a bit self centered (temporarily, for now. ) you have lot more to achieve and if you mess up with this stuff... you ll end up nowhere. Chemistry : Even I don't like that subject. In your last phase of 1st year and in 2nd year , you ll get Organic Chemistry. That is even more dry topic. I don't know why I've got such impression ( Some credits to my Organic Chemistry prof :P ) So, since this is the only beginning, try to find ways to learn the subject. this is all self evolving .You need to struggle with this.   Now listen to what I advice you on the worst case. : Score as much as you can in the other two subjects. This should be much higher in order to cover the chemistry topic. And even in chemistry, you can find Physical chemistry ,easy . (It deals with Problems which you can understand easily and need not mug up with ) some properties of group elements in periodic table., atomic structure etc etc can be easily understood. so have a firm grip on these topics so that you can easily cross the sectional cutoff. :) But this is the worst case scenario. For now try to make pact with the subject.. School and Coaching: Don't have a notion of attending two different courses. The school and coaching class will more or less cover similar topics. So , learn basics in school work on them and get doubts clarified in coaching. About exams , You are a better judge for your self. Decide what to be taken as per situation.Attend Coaching exams without disturbing your academic performance in your schools as even that score is important for qualifying jee. Motivation: Huh.. after a very loooong ans , I don't feel further motivation is required. :P :D .. Always try to be happy. this is because, in the world what ever we do.. al is in search for happiness..!! so , be calm, be confident and have faith in yourself. you are the only one who can bring you fortunes. Forgot to mention : Don't care about those shuffling stuff..!! Many of my friends who were in lower sections cleared jee better than the others. I know It would be embarrassing to face such situation, so first try not to get shuffled... and even if other happens, be focussed on your ultimate goal.. All the best dear... Be always happy... :) ..

I am an IIT aspirant too. Infact I had a similar situation like yours. I broke my right arm(I write with this arm) after around 6-7 months of starting my coaching. After removing the plaster my situation was exactly like yours. I couldn't study/concentrate in classes as the habbit of doing so was gone. I completely lost faith in myself. But I am back on track after some ups and downs. Now coming to the points. Forget about the last 6 months, whatever happened just forget it. Start your day with a new attitude of fuckin things that make you loose confidence, etc. Its not that you have to study 24×7. But you have to study. Let it be an hour or 13 hours, just give it your best shot. Try to put internet away, not totally but give it a certain amount of time and dont go beyond that. When you have tests try and stay away from internet. You have to study harder than your peers because you know that they have been studying all these 6 months. Its ok if you have a girlfriend and some friends, just dont let the relationships disturb your studies. Hating chemistry is ok most of the people do(including me). Dont let negative thoughts wander in your head. There is no problem with you forgetting what you had studied, its just because you didn't practice enough. Stop Thinking about random things, get control of yourself. Its your brain and it wanders just because you let it. Motivate yourself towards the goal by getting to know good things about IIT. You are a morning person so half of your problems are gone, because people can't fit in a schedule because they cant get up early. Try and study both school and coaching together. While learning a chapter first read it in your school textbook and then move on to your DPP or the Sheet which your coaching provides. That's all I can write.

Use pomodoro technique and deliberate practice and follow spaced repition to tackle procrastination, build speed and accuracy along with a better memory. To get motivated or get out of negetivity think you are in iit and and the world is praising you. For chemistry you can start to give it time and start from simple chapters and move to hard chapters

So, you have quite a lot of problems. I can't help you with all problems, but I can help with a few of them. So, while I was in my preparation for JEE, I faced a few of them like lack of motivation, problems with chemistry, nervousness, carelessness and yeah, no accuracy! Motivation: Initially, I had a very bad performance in my +1. Because of that I lagged behind my friends. This led me to depression but thanks to my family for the support during that time. That prevented me from getting into depression but did not give motivation to study. So, it had to be me to provide myself a motivation. I told myself that if my friends who are in same class and who listened to the same lecture I had listened could do better, WHY CAN'T I ??? This made me study and prove myself. This competitive spirit helped me. If someone could do something, even you could do that. So, never treat yourself less capable than others. Chemistry: It was a problem for me too. I couldn't remember so much factual information. But I could apply a concept well if I understood due to which I did well in Math and Physics. But later in my +2, I understood that chemistry is the determining subject. You could complete chemistry paper  and score FULL  in 30 min in an exam if you know!! So, from then, I used to read it everyday only because I want to  get into IIT and not into some other college and for that, I have to do well in all subjects. That passion to get into IIT is required. If getting into IIT is your dream, then it should be enough to motivate you to read chemistry. Carelessness: I really couldn't overcome this problem but there is a lot of improvement. One way to overcome bubbling one question's answer to another question is starting the bubbling some random questions and not in an orderly manner. After bubbling a few questions like that, we can start in an order. It really helps in reducing this problem. (I bubbled 4 questions wrongly after solving them in my actual IIT-JEE exam though). But this helps a lot. Accuracy: This is also a problem for me even after joining IIT. I cannot do calculations fast and accurately. The solution that helps to reduce that is giving some extra time to calculations (because the answers in options will be close) and do a lot of practice. A lot! Nervousness: This occurred for me while I got the question parer in my hands in actual IIT-JEE exam. Because of that, my hands were shivering and my brain couldn't think anything. Due to that, I wasted first 10-15 min of my exam to solve a simplest stupid direct question. Then I took a break for a minute and took some deep breaths thinking of nothing but my dream and my duty to achieve it. This calmed me. That's about my exam. But during my preparation, I used to be shy to ask any doubt to the lecturer thinking that it might be a silly doubt. Its bad. We are paying the fee to the institution. So, its the lecturers duty to help us in any matter regarding the academics. So, don't feel shy to answer or ask any doubt in the class thinking that you are wrong. Remember there is no one who had never made any mistake big or small and its not wrong making a mistake. Internet: I don't know much about internet until I joined IIT because we got internet connection in our house for the first time during the end of my +1 only because applications for almost all exams were made online. So, I can't help you on how to avoid using quora or facebook. But my advice to you will be think about your dream and how to achieve it and to achieve it, you should not waste time. Lastly, just forget everything that has happened and get going from now on wards. Don't worry much about the shuffling the batches and so on. Try to study from now on and prove yourself. At last, the deciding exam is actual IIT-JEE exam and not these exams. So, your aim must be to crack the actual exam and you have time to prepare for that. Remember, self working is the key to crack any exam along with the support of the lecturers. All the best. Cheers.

Boy, this is going to be a LOOOONG answer..... Hey! Thanks for the A2A I get all that you are saying... it's like the story of my JEE prep in writing :P So, I expect you to believe in what I  tell you, as it is nothing arbit from what I feel but from a direct hands-on experience. First of all... RELAX, and ask yourself this question - "Why do I want to get into an IIT" even though you put it later in your list of problems.. Motivation is actually the most important factor if you want to get by these 2 years and perform with flying colors... Your first step should be to BUILD UP ON THAT MOTIVATION... because there are going to be times when things are not going as they should be, and this helps.. A LOT ! and for WHOMEVER you believe in's SAKE, do NOT think that you have wasted a lot of time, you could've been some other place, getting better marks and all that stuff... it only leads to a further wastage of time and anyways, you do have a significant amount of time left to make a mark... I know people who've improved drastically in much less time, CHEER UP :) Now let's come to tackling your problems, I might club a few for efficiency... 1. Procrastination,  Start and Break, Concentration and Stamina, Internet, Lack of regularity - All these things are inter-connected, and has a really subjective approach. Personally, I never liked to sit and study and always wanted to find my way around it. The only person with a solution is YOU. I know, it sounds redundant, but you need to see above that and realize that you LACK WILL POWER. Build up on that. For the initial few times, FORCE yourself to study. Keep doing that until it starts to come naturally.  If you feel like getting up and checking Facebook, FORCE yourself not to.. Make it a fight with yourself, and fight it hard. As soon as you realise your mind is wavering off from studies, bring it back right there and then. Concentration isn't something you get in a day, it's these small, daily initiative that you take which will take you there. Feel inspired. Talk to your teachers, you are in VMC (right? i guessed coz u mentioned HRT and I too was in VMC).. even if that's not the case.. I am sure your coaching has IITians as teachers... talk to them, listen to their stories in IIT and feel motivated to reach there. It helps to stay inspired due to personal reasons more than professional ones. Every time you want to get up in the middle of a question or concept. SIT TIGHT. Don't budge. Tell yourself, if you don't want to study, don't... but that does not mean that you are going anywhere. Keep on sitting, doing nothing, and after some time you yourself would pick up that book and resume where you left.... :) 2. Speed, Accuracy, Carelessness - I won't advise you to worry about your speed right now. Focus on grasping the concepts and not giving up the fight. In case it takes you 3 hrs to solve a question, so be it... Stick on that question till you don't get it... attempt it at least 4 times before you move on to see the solution and when you do, instead of cursing yourself for not being able to do it... search for the link that you missed. WHY weren't you able to think of that. And solve that question once again, right then, w/o the solution  If you can understand the pattern and concept behind the questions and relate them to what you have studied, it'll help you in your accuracy. Carelessnes - dude, stay careful... it has no excuse Speed will come with time, as you start to solve more questions in exam-time format... don't worry. 3.Memory - You can try this- Whenever you study a previous topic, if you come across a point/concept/question you have done before, but seems like something new altogether write it down somewhere and think about it for some time and keep it for future reference. Keep referring to your class notes once in a while. Do what you think is efficient in your case. 4. Self confidence, Nervousness, Negativity -  When you start putting up efficient efforts and not think much about the instant results. When you see yourself growing in terms of your concepts and clarity... you'll see yourself getting more positive. It's a more internal phenomenon. ONLY you can decide what makes you happy and positive, whether you realise this now or not. Try to stay positive and search for brighter side of things. Self- confidence will soon follow and you'll get less nervous :) smile more dude, it doesn't cost anything! 5. I think a lot - Another suggestion as to what you can do- every night when you are finished with studies, before going to sleep, make a list of topics you studied that day but are not really clear to you. Keep that list with you. Whenever you find yourself pondering over hypothetical conversations, look at that list and pick up any one topic and start thinking about that concept. Sounds weird, I know. But the only way I know to stop those chain of thoughts. (If you can think of new ways, pl. comment and let me know... i am in dire need of those now!) 6. Chemistry - It's like Déjà vu... answering this question. Chemistry was not exactly my weak point but certainly my least favourite of the three :P I have to thank my teacher that he didn't plainly state the obvious... he made us see the logic behind everything, so chem became kind of bearable... nothing you can't do by yourself. In case you are unable to find one, take the help of a teacher or just make one for yourself, to help you remember things. Invest more time in chemistry, and don't see it as a load, give it another chance ;) don't make it monotonous while studying chemistry, don't study chem when in a bad mood or tired. Take extra care since most people score very easily in chem, means it's not that diff to score but very easy to lose marks in because accuracy falls when no of attempted ques goes up. 7. School or coaching. - Now that's a question with no clear cut answer. I preferred coaching as they helped with school curriculum as well. Anyways, Boards are not that difficult to prepare for... and you certainly DON"T need 1.5 years for that. It also depends on how you are preparing for IIT. If you prioritise your concepts (which is the ideal way) school will be a cake walk. Sure there will be some extra topics, but I guess you'd be able to manage them yourself. 8. Problems with friends - Now, this is a suggestion for life. You make friends, but not all of them keep your best interest in their minds. They are not your friends in the real sense. In case they make you feel bad about yourself, undermine yourself, distract you from your ideas, distance yourself from them. If that girls does not respect your wishes and keeps on going about that guy, IGNORE her. You don't owe her your time... make better friends, with similar goals, who'd work with you, enjoy with you, help you have a positive outlook - about yourself and about life, in general. ENJOY these two years. JEE prep was the best two years of my life, seriously. I made friends, with fellow students, teachers... It was fun because I didn't see it as something I had to do, rather something I wanted to do (general overview, I obviously had my share of ups and downs). Don't pressurize yourself... no good comes out of it. CHILL a bit more. Work Smart not just hard... If in any doubt, comment below__ P.S- If you choose to come to IIT-Kgp, do meet me :) Hope it was of help... All the best :) :D

wracking IIT-JEE is a big thing but not big as you have made, I think you are over stressed by exaggerating your academics, That's why you have placed a long list. There would be around 15 Lac. students appearing in JEE-2015 and around 80% of them are in similar situation. Mainly Lack of concentration, Lacking in time management, Lacking in scheduling and most important Lacking in one subject out of three (i.e. Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics)  . here is a motivational quote I think you need lots of motivation every day to be some what organized You can find motivational quotes daily at social page  Now coming on to your long list. you say you can not sit for a long time (i.e. more than 2 hrs) it is not a problem ideally you should have a study schedule in which your self study should be divided into a lap of 2 hrs. because if you go on studying very long (i.e. say 5-6 hrs in a stretch) then your thinking goes monotonous and some times it will give an illusion that concept is very clear  but actually the case may be different and it may be vice-a-vars a so short duration study schedule has showed better results Follow http://www.myetutors.com/myetutors/Forum/index.aspx?g=posts&t=7and http://www.myetutors.com/myetutors/Forum/index.aspx?g=posts&t=8 to over come your difficulties It is also mentioned that you commit careless mistakes so it is advisable the you should opt for online IIT-JEE examinations there are many websites providing for various examinations and can be chosen as per the requirement so carelessness can be eliminated. probably, i had faced the problems you faced till now. The main problem with you is point 7- negativity. I would suggest you to do something : Watch the movie: The Secret. Wait, I am not ridiculing you. This is not an action movie or any science fiction. Watch it with full concentration and interest. Then come back to this page and answer these questions to yourself honestly : Remember, you should answer the following questions only after watching the movie. Be true to yourself. 1. You hate youself - you are always in a feeling that whatever you do is a sort of mistake or wrongdoing, is it not so? - 1st point of negativity. 2. Look at the words you quoted : I am not fast, I am mostly wrong, I have no self confidence, I am weak in chemistry....etc. etc. Now, start thinking, where exactly you felt you were better than you are now. There should always be one phase of life, where you felt good, happy and proud. Start from there - Don't you think you can reverse the changes happened from there on? If no, you have not watched the movie, or you have watched it for granted. You are not true to yourself. Can't help.(sorry for being rude) 3. You told you are NOT a genius. Now, let me ask you, who told you are not?    The problem is with you - Now answer this, how will you feel if someone calls you a genius - Don't you feel that you are ridiculed? So, YOU can't accept yourself being a genius, Who else can? 4. I guess you are in 10th grade. Don't you think it is too early to decide that you cannot clear the JEE? Then why bother? 5. All through the post, you have given the feel that you are in some grave position and like as if you are terribly struggling. Why can't feel easy? Because you don't want to feel easy. You always feel you are under pressure and stress. You don't really have any stress.                      Now, the motivation lies in you. You are going to start a new life from here on. I have already taken a promise from you in this regard. All the best! P.S: I am an IITian too, studying at IITK!!!!!!!!11
