How can I merge all my Google calendars into my primary one?

Will Google let me merge my two accounts?

  • I have two accounts with Google with 2 separate email addresses and nicknames. One originated with YT, the other with Gmail. I want to combine them to help have a singular place for email, videos, pictures, contacts, blogging, reader, etc. but I can't merge them. It's frustrating and seems silly and easy enough to correct this. So when will Google let me merge my 2 accounts? (please Google, if you're listening).

  • Answer:

As you said, mostly merging two google accounts is not possible, but there are be a few workarounds, if you wouldn't mind that (and haven't done it already)! For Mail: If you want to put all the mail in one place, its not too hard, esp. if you are using on a or mail for other apple devices (maybe it can be done from the likes of Outlook too. haven't tested it personally). You can configure your device for for accounts 1 and 2. Physically move all mail from account 2 to the account 1 (and keep 2 empty, if you wish). Set up forwarding from account 2 to account 1 (so that acct 2 remains empty and clean!). Set filters & labels in account 1 to easily pick out mails that were sent to/from account 2. Set up options to 'Send mail as:' under 'Accounts and Import' so that you can mail from account 1 or 2 using just account 1. For Photos, Videos, Calendar, Docs, Reader: Can be shared (and given joint ownership)/allowed subscription from one to the other and hence can be accessed by both (a rather straightforward workaround if both accounts exist till the end!). Also, check for export/import for account 2 and 1 respectively (I know it exists for ) Download/Upload for (might work, if simple sharing doesn't do the job!) If pics have been shared from account 2 to account 1, account 1 has the option to share the pictures on google+ as an album. So, you could use that option (if that's not too tedious & if you don't have very many albums in account 2) A better option still is to take google's official help to migrate photos on using: http://support.google.com/picasa/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=189356 (but careful with this: its irreversible & I haven't tried it personally!) For Contacts: Export from account 2 and import into account 1. Use 'Find duplicates', merge whatever is necessary Clean-up address book (depending on how well step 2 works, might be few minutes or a couple of hours!) For Google+: Circles can be created and shared from account 2 to account 1. Will update soon with proper references, if need. Surely, merging the accounts is the best option, but these have worked for me in the past!

Anyone know of a solution for Google Plus? I have a multi-login setup, but G+ wouldn't allow me to switch to the account that I use with it unless the other accounts were G+ enabled. Eventually I gave in and setup the other accounts with G+ thinking I would just ignore them, but now those G+ accounts have started advertising themselves to people who already know me via the first one. In short it's a mess and Google need to sort it out. The simplest solution IMHO would be for Google to allow a G+ account to absorb other G+ accounts, in the same way that Facebook can operate on a variety of email addresses.
