R: how to visualize categorical data?

What software can be used to visualize associated data?

  • I'm looking for an app (preferably a OS X app) or some computational way that would help me visualize some basic associated data. Basically, I have three columns of data that have many to many relationships, and when one is selected I'd like to show it's associations. Here's an example:

    This is simply a network graph. Perhaps overkill, but you could do it with https://gephi.org/. I like the simplicity of the image you attached though. Just this second, I can't think of a quick resource to generate that, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Page search "network" on the https://github.com/mbostock/d3/wiki/Gallery gallery, if you're not afraid to get into some code.
