When should I buy fireworks?

Why do people buy and burst noise making crackers when they can buy sky fireworks and make it appear elegant?

• This is what I mean from sky based fireworks. These definitely look more more, much more beautiful than a so called "bomb" which bursts causing nothing but a sudden rise in adrenalin. Besides, its common in many cultures to burst loud crackers to drive away evil spirits, till this date, crackers are used to drive away wild animals. If Diwali is about home coming of Gods, then why burst their (and our) ears by bursting crackers when money can be spent on making it more beautiful? Even when I sit here writing this question (on 23.10.2014), many outside are engaged in what can be called as open violation of noise pollution norms.

  It's fun!! Esp. for kids. The anticipation of the bang and the thrill waiting for the fuse to set off the cracker is so full of suspense it beats any roller coaster. The smell of burst crackers is something else too!! :-) Have you ever tried it when you were a kid?!! I have. And though I'm a bit loath to try it out now (starting trouble) the sight of wonder and glee in my sons eyes is worth it. As I've grown older my ears are more sensitive to bangs. So I prefer rockets and lights. To each his own. It's time we stopped being lead by the nose of puritanical western values (hypocritical at best).
