How does WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Hike Messenger and Viber send push messages to the Android client?
-
I am using Autobahn Web Socket Android Client to receive push notifications from the Web Server. It is not consistent. I would like to know if this is the correct approach for push notifications. I know GC2M but there are limitations with it. Is it OK to use GCM?. What problems would I face in the future if I use it. I would like to know what everybody are actually using. What is everybody using for push. I want to implement mostly used and reliable push service. Please guide me in this. I have checked over the Internet about the Push Strategies used by those big apps like Facebook Messenger, Hike Messenger, WhatsApp and Viber but couldn't find out anything regarding it.
