What are the job opportunities for ME software engineering fresher?

Is it possible to get a software engineering job with an electrical engineering degree?

  • I am doing M.S. at USC in electrical engineering and will graduate in mid-May with a high gpa. I have specialized in wireless networks & communications, but I want to get a software engineering job after graduation. I have started to work data structures and algorithms (I took these courses several years ago) and started to solve problems in hackerrank and topcoder a month ago. So, what are my chances to find a solid job in software engineering?

    True story: for the first hardware product at our first company, my EE partner did the software, and I did all the board design and fabrication... And I'm a Mathie. If you're smart and get things done, you can do whatever you want.
