Am a b.tech third year computer science student. Am not interested in engineering anymore. I have a extremely bad CGPA and am obsessed with building a great product or service and am no longer interested to shape myself to face an interview or study further. What do i do?

Am a b.tech third year computer science student. I messed up my 12th grade and ended up in decent Indian University but i always feel that i should have studied harder and given it one more shot. Anyways that doesn't matter anymore. I was careless from the beginning of my engineering. And now i have a CGPA of around 5 with two backlogs. That makes me clearly unfit for campus recruitment or higher studies. Even i stand a chance I really don't want to waste my life studying bullshit. Am always interested in doing things that take me to the next level of learning. I do really love to learn but not memorize and get grades. I really don't find a suitable environment that gives me the freedom to learn what i want to. I started web designing understanding the start up era since one year. And this brought a great change in me. I started an education startup and a branding and marketing startup with a couple of my friends, but failed miserably. It wasn't actually a failure but I couldn't achieve the vision. It was not just about the money. Soon I realized I shouldn't be wasting time anymore and started an e commerce startup that has the ability to bring a revolution in the e commerce industry. I had beginner's luck but soon started getting resistance. Breaking the barriers my team is doing great work to sustain.Since I reside in a residential campus, I am not able to do what i really want to do. I don't think taking up a job or studying further can help me anymore. Am totally obsessed with understanding people and building a great service or a product. What do i do? P.S : I come from a middle class family and my parents are scared about my future! That makes me feel like shit. I mean I know what am worth of and I don't want assholes in suits to judge my capability based on bullshit questions and pin me with a price tag like a shitty subscription software. :(

Answer:
Why not start with iphone or android development and complete graduation for the sake of completing it.

For success in life, one has to learn persistence. One should think before undertaking anything. Changing course of action midway, may not carry one, too far. You should learn to put in your best WHOLE-HEAREDLY and succeed in what you are doing ! That is my personal view. I am not an expert, but have lead a reasonably successful life, so far, to the age of 60 years.

Please do get some industry exposure before you get into startup and working for yourself. Why? Your grades are down and that could backfire you while not being bold to approach customers and business relations. Dropout people making big business are good stories but for indians it is not easy. I'm not saying you should stop pursuing your dreams, I am saying make sure you have the dream alive while securing yourself financially. Two things to get hold of while you go after what you want. 1. Income Stream 2. Social life When you have decent income stream via any sort of work you do either related or not related to your work, it helps you dream more. If you don't have income stream running then it makes it harder for you to do what you dream about. Social life is very important and please don't neglect it. People after graduation part ways. Many stick around only to the people who are equally progressive like them and don't like to hang out around those who are not much successful. Despite this, make sure you make good friends from all sort of salary scale. If you neglect social life then you're likely to succumb to agoraphobia and depression. My Story: I passed out in 2007 as electronics engineering graduate in distinction. I could not able to sit for campus due to year gap yet I had the percentage that were needed for campus criteria. I wasted 2 years searching for job in pune. I crashed in 100 interviews and out of which got selected in none. I got placed in one small scale due to recommendation of one of the family member. My confidence went down to such extent that I was having suicidal thoughts but I used to work freelance since the college days and that money stream kept me alive. The company I worked for went down. I had to look for another work, 6 months passed, didn't get the job and then had to do anything that came in. In meantime I worked online with freelancing work. I am still scared to shit like any fresher while giving interviews, I don't get selected in MNC. Only MNC that I made it to the last round are Dell and Persistence. Family is not much supportive to what I want to do in life, they think safe life that society decided is the right way to go. After 7 years of passing out, I work as contract web developer for a firm in pune. I want to switch to testing so that I can settle down in my career and life. What is the result of 7 years of struggling? No consistent work. No social life. Not much money in the bank, living paycheck to paycheck. No girl wants to marry me. All my family members taunt me on money and not having family. I never took money from parents to date, that backfire positive and negatively. I suffer from depression, low self esteem and agoraphobia. Parents expect me to settle with any random woman. Friends don't keep much touch due to the way my life works. Today, age of 30, all my previous accomplishments are washed out. I have logically nothing to build on, yet I work to change that everyday. I realize that in 2007-2012, life was very hard compared to what we have right now. I tried, I failed, I stand but I hope nobody boldly jumps into startup and freelancing like I did. All my focus is on building consistent income stream and living social life.Sometimes you can't think ahead of time when you lack money. You can pivot from any age of your life. So keep the mind fresh. For me: Yes, I want to build my own product while working full time as well as working freelancing. But all in due time. I am not discouraging you but plan out every step, every day and every month. Make sure you switch to safe ship, if by any unfortunate way recession arrives in next 2-5 years. Self employment is harder during recession time. Please do note this. I made this comment because I don't want you to have the same mistakes like me. You are in much better shape than me in terms of family and career I hope, so take advantage of that. Do not hesitate to ask for recommendations and other favor be it your own business or while asking for job. Sorry if lot of my advice don't apply to you. I had to get this off my chest. Good luck.
