Why do your eyes get red when you're tired?

Why do my eyes get tired before my body does, and how can I resolve this?

  • My eyes often get tired before my body does in the night. So even when I really want to work some more, my eye is too tired for me to go on. When this happens I can hardly open my eyes wide. But the funny thing is I am not sleepy. So I tend to just go to sleep when this happens. I've been living like this for all my life--go to sleep when my eye gets tired, even if the rest of my body is not tired and I'm fully motivated to go on. But I'm thinking this might be fixable if I know the cause, so decided to ask. Why does this happen, and how can I get my fresh eye back when this happens?

    The way I fix this problem is to get up go outside and walk. Your eyes will wake up because they are now engaged in a new activity, walking, and they are now engaged in a new environment, the world outside of a building. Also, make sure your eye sight doesn't need correction. See an eye doctor. They may not be tired, they may be over worked.

take a break for the computer, your eyes get tired because it's hard work for them to focus at the same distance for hours on end, go do something else for a little while!
