how to keep icons in listview in android?

How do you remove app icons on Android 2.2?

I have recently purchased an an HTC Desire running Android 2.2. I added certain app and other icons to my home page, but cannot now remove them. Is it possible to remove app and other icons from the homepages?
Answer:

Place your finger on the app icon and hold it there until the phone vibrates a little and it will look like the icon has gotten a bit bigger. You may also notice that the app drawer icon has now changed to a trash can. Drag the icon selected with you finger to the trash can and release. The icon should now be gone from your home screen, but will still appear in the regular app drawer. If you want to uninstall, you'll need to go into settings -> Applications, find your app, and tell it to uninstall.
